Having a baby can be the most wonderful thing for anyone to go through, however it can also be one of the most stressful and worrisome. All parents want their kids to live safe and secure from any harm. However there are many hazards around the home and outside of it that you need to consider when you bring a new life into the home.

Baby proofing your home is very important. You need to make sure that all possible accidents waiting to happen can be avoided. Kids falling can be a really serious problem in many households. Although many parents put up baby gates around the house, which are a must, some forget or neglect to put them up in all the important places. One spot that may slip your mind is at the bottom of the stairs and not just the top.

Make sure that you have the gates anywhere where the baby might be able to fall down, or block them from being able to climb up somewhere and be unable to get down safely. Common sense needs to play a part here, and remember to have a gate at both the top and bottom of the stair.

When you are not in the room with them, you also need to make sure that there is a wireless baby monitor in there with them so that you can both hear and see what they are up to. Keep having a look to see that they are not becoming smothered by their bedding or they have broken a toy and are chewing on the detached piece.

During bath time also ensure that you are with them at all time. Baby bath tubs are a good purchase to make and you need to keep the water level nice and low if you have the infant lying on its back.

You could also consider a product like spa baby which is a sort of baby bath that allows the baby to sit upright and remain nice and warn and relaxed in the water. In this position it is almost impossible for the baby to get themselves into trouble, as it is too tight and narrow to upturn or manoeuvre into a dangerous position.
